[Ed’s note: Since we are all, for the most part, social distancing, self-isolating, and trying not to freak out, we at The Typescript thought we should share our playlists, what we are listening to as we try to work from home, and keep a semblance of normality.  We are, starting today, going to publish a list each Sunday.  Theresa Smalec  provides our fifth playlist. Stay safe, folks, and let music keep us sane and safe.  We are posting YouTube versions, except in the case of full albums, where it’s just a single track from an album, but the full playlist is down below on our Spotify].

Most of these songs are ones I’ve liked for a long time, and that I listen to late at night, when I’m winding down from the day’s work. I’ve been Zooming a lot and responding to student emails. I’ve been grocery shopping and driving around with my mask as my front seat passenger. Anyhow, these are just some songs I’ve been thinking about and listening to lately:

1. True Faith,’ New Order

2‘Summertime Sadness,’ Lana Del Ray

3. ‘Fast Car,’ Tracy Chapman

4. ‘Ashes to Ashes, David Bowie

5. ‘Summer’s End,’ John Prine

6. ‘Where is My Mind,’ Pixies

7. ‘Telephone,’ Lady Gaga feat. Beyoncé

8. ‘Boys of Summer,’ Don Henley

9. ‘Brilliant Disguise,’ Bruce Springsteen

10. ‘Goodbye,’ Emmylou Harris
